The programming committee is planning to publish both the bound proceedings and the CD-R version. The authors are asked to send also the electric file instructed below.
The final manuscripts should not only be submitted as a printing form but also as an Adobe Acrobat (PDF) file to be included in the electronic and bound conference proceedings. This means that you should make an Acrobat version after you have created the manuscript using your favorite word processing software. If you do not send the PDF file, the programming committee will publish a PDF file created from an scanned image of your hardcopy manuscript.
Use the Distiller application included in the complete Adobe Acrobat package. All PDF files should be created with Acrobat Distiller 4.0 or later with preferences compatible with Acrobat 4.0. All fonts need to be embedded through Distiller, and Jobs Options should be set at Press Optimized. Do not create files with PDF Writer. For more information, see Adobe's web site:
Open Acrobat Distiller and select Print Optimized.
From the Settings Menu select "Job Options…".
Set compatibility to Acrobat 4.0 and check "Optimize PDF". Then click on the Fonts tab.
Check "Embed All Fonts" and "Subset All Embedded Fonts Below: 100%".
Exit Distiller.
The authors do not send the manuscripts that are password protected or otherwise secured. The publisher must be able to open the PDF files to add page and the proceeding title. The protected documents such as read only or print only cannot be included in the CD-R proceedings.
The file size does not exceed 3.0 MB for each paper.
The authors are allowed to submit multimedia attachments to enhance the CD-R version of your paper. Multimedia enhancements typically consist of video clips, animations or supplementary data such as data files, tables of extra information or extra figures.
Linking the authors' web site is also allowed.
If the authors have Adobe Acrobat, they may want to fill out the "Document Properties" fields in the PDF file. These are accessed from the FILE menu and include: the title of the paper, a subject line, the names of the authors and a keyword list. If the authors fill in this information, users of the proceedings CD-R will be able to perform qualified searches for the papers using these fields. All of the PDF files will be fully indexed and searchable as a document collection on the published CD-R proceedings regardless of the presence or absence of the document properties information.
Send the PDF file as an attachment to the regional program chair by e-mail or surface mail with diskettes or CD-R. Name the attached file using your ID number followed by the PDF extension (for example ICPT0987.PDF). The ID number is assigned when the authors submit the abstract.
Please direct any questions to the regional program chairs.
