Transportation

Access to Japan

The nearest international airport is Nagoya (NGO). Narita (NRT) has the biggest airport in Japan. Connecting flights between Narita (NRT) and Nagoya (NGO) will be available as 4 domestic and 1 international flights.

From New Tokyo International Airport (NRT); Narita Airport

Take JR "Narita Express" from Narita Airport to JR Tokyo/JR Shinagawa station. Then take JR bullet train "Shinkansen" for Shin-Osaka, Nagoya or Hamamatsu. Kodama for Mishima does not reach Hamamatsu. Kodama super express runs every 30 min from Tokyo. Some of Hikari super express stop at Hamamatsu. No Nozomi stops at Hamamatsu.

It takes 3.5 hours and costs 11,000JPY.

Or take a domestic flight to Nagoya Airport (NGO).

From Tokyo International Airport (HND); Haneda Airport

Take Keikyu Line from Haneda Airport for JR Shinagawa station. Take "Shinkansen" from Shinagawa. It takes 2.5 hours and costs 8,500JPY. Shinagawa station for Shinkansen newly opened in October 2003. No Nozomi stops at Hamamatsu.

From Nagoya/Chubu International Airport (NGO); Centrair

Take Meitetsu Express train from Nagoya/Chubu (Centrair) airport to JR Nagoya station. Then take "Shinkansen" for Tokyo. It takes 1.5 hours and costs 6,000JPY. Kodama super express runs every 30 min for Tokyo. If you take a local train from JR Nagoya station to Hamamatsu, it takes 2.5 hours and costs 3,000JPY. You will sometimes change trains at Toyohashi. No Nozomi stops at Hamamatsu.
Or take a limousine bus to Hamamatsu, which runs almost every hour. It takes 2 hours and costs 3,000JPY.
This airport opened in 2005.

From Prefectural Nagoya Airport (NKM); Nagoya Airfield (Komaki)

Only for domestic flight.

From Kansai International Airport (KIX); Osaka/Kansai Airport

Take JR Limited Express "Haruka" from Kansai airport to JR Shin-Osaka station. Then change to "Shinkansen" for Tokyo. It takes 3.5 hours and costs 11,000JPY.  Kodama super express runs every 30 min for Tokyo. Some of Hikari super express stop at Hamamatsu. No Nozomi stops at Hamamatsu.

From Osaka/Itami Airport (ITM)

Only for domestic flight.
