Suprakas Sinha Ray studied physical chemistry at the University of Calcutta, India where he received his Master's degree in 1996 working on molecular spectroscopy. In 2000 he completed his Ph. D thesis at the Presidency College, India under the guidance of Professor Mukul Biswas on the " Preparation and Evaluation of nanocomposites of Heterocyclic Polymers and various Nanodimensional Inorganic Oxides". On the basis of his Ph. D. thesis he received Ph. D. degree in Physical Chemistry (Polymer Science) in early 2001 from the University of Calcutta, India, and then joined with Prof. M. Okamoto's polymer physics group in Toyota Technological Institute, Nagoya, Japan, as a Postdoctoral Fellow. After spending one year, he got very prestigious JSPS postdoctoral Fellowship from Japan Govt. Presently he is a JSPS Postdoctoral Fellow under the supervision of Prof. Okamoto. He has published more than 35 papers in highly reputed international journals and about 20 papers in various conference proceedings including two book chapters on various aspects of nanocomposite materials. At present his major research field is the preparation to processing of high performance "green materials". |
